Simple line borders, multiple traditional complex design bands, one with motifs including frog, strawberry plant, ferns, dog, rabbit, birds and crosses, and dividers. Colours blue, browns, greens, cream, pink and gold . Alphabet A-Z in upper case. Inscription reads, 'ANNO * DOMINI *1649 * HW * 8 *'. Framed in an old, beaded mahogany frame with rippled, old glass. Mounting: The sampler is secured top and bottom with acid free textile tape, otherwise loose mounted on linen over board. Frame backed and sealed with brown paper tape.
