Colours greens, black, cream and browns. Verse reads 'The Lord support my infant days>And guide my giddy Youth>Holy and just are all thy ways>And all thy works are truth'. Signed and dated, 'Sarah Chapman Her Work Aged 12 Years Finished 1835'. A wonderful picture of a boy with his dog in the centre. Surrounding motifs including flower baskets, birds, flowers and fir trees. Framed in an old, burr maple frame with gilt slip and glass. Mounting: The sampler is fixed to wood. Frame backed with brown paper.
