Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse. Vent hole to the underside. This piece represents the poet and writer, John Milton (1608-1674), who studied at St Paul's school in Cambridge and began writing at the age of ten. In 1671 he published 'Paradise Regained'.
