'Jesus permit thy gracious name to stand,

As the first effort of an infant's hand,

And while her fingers o'er this canvass move,

Engage her tender heart to seek thy love.'.

Signed and dated 'Mary Fitton's Work Wrought in the 11th Year of her age 1828'.

birds,

and angels.

CONDITION: Generally Good. A couple of holes to centre and holes around edges where previously tacked, illustrated.

No stains other than uniform age darkening of the ground inside stretcher frame. No stitch losses other than to the holed areas.

Colours are all good and strong with no noticeable fading. The silks bright and glossy.

Colour run around the dark brown and copper threads, worst illustrated.

Stretching is slightly uneven.

Frame showing very slight wear, illustrated, otherwise sound and in our opinion ready to hang.
