Unframed with no glass. Loose no backing .
The sampler has alphabets A-Z in uppercase and lower case with numbers 1-12.


Worked in a variety of stitches.
Verse/s read 'Remember now thy Creator'
and 'Continue thou in the things which Thou hast learned'.
Signed and dated "Emma Woodburn Mar 12. 1847.".


Meandering strawberry border.

The sampler is worked in fine silk threads throughout.
Brown, green, copper and gold colour threads used.
Motifs include dogs, lions,

flowers, a temple, trees,

blossoming trees,
a crown, birds, bees,

stags and potted flowering plants.
CONDTION: Good.
No holes whatsoever.
A number of pale stain speckles throughout the sampler, not highly visible and not detracting, illustrated.

No stitch losses. Colours are all good and strong with no noticable fading.
The silks still have their original bright glossy sheen.
No colour run. No stretching.
