Framed in an old, possibly original, black, ebonised wooden frame with glass.

The frame has flowers in relief on the corners.

Stitched onto cardboard backing.

Verse reads 'Lord we thy will odey (sic) And in thy Pleasure rest. We, only we, can say; Whatever is, is best. Joyful to, meet, willing to Part, Convinced we still are one in heart.'.

No signature or date, but we are certain of this pieces age.

Meandering, floral strawberry border.

The sampler is worked in fine silk threads throughout.

Green, dark brown, copper, gold and silver colour threads used.

Packed with motifs, including fir trees, dogs, hearts, potted flowering plants and a fruit basket.

CONDTION: Slightly distressed.

A few holes around the outer edge, illustrated.

No stains. No stitch losses.

Colours are all good and strong with no noticable fading.

The silks still have their original bright glossy sheen.

No colour run. No stretching.

The frame has some wear and unfortunately chips to the flowers on three of the four corners, illustrated,

but is structurally sound and still quite attractive.
