Victorian alphabet sampler in monochrome
Victorian alphabet sampler in monochrome, circa 1850. 11ins wide, 7.5ins tall. Unframed with no glass. Stitched onto linen backing and stretched around card. The sampler has 2 alphabets A-Z in uppercase and 1 in lower case with numbers 1-10. Worked in cross stitch throughout. Simple line border. Worked in dark brown cotton thread throughout.
CONDTION: Good. No holes. No stains. A few stitch losses to the border, illustrated. Colour good and strong with no noticable fading. No colour run. No stretching.
