MOVE TO:
Victorian chruch motif Sampler.
Victorian, circa 1860. 8ins by 6.25ins. Victorian chruch motif Sampler.
Framed in an old, possibly original, wooden frame with rippled, old glass.
Stitched onto paper backing.
No signature or date, but we are certain of this pieces age.
Zig zag border. The sampler is worked in wool threads throughout.
Blue, yellow, green, light brown, pink and red colour threads used.
Subject of the sampler is a church with trees beside, with a grass frontage, stars and crowns above
CONDTION: Good.
No holes. Slight uniform patchy staining throughout.
No stitch losses.
Colours are all good and strong with no noticable fading.
No colour run. No stretching.
Frame has very slight wear, not detracting, illustrated,
is otherwise sound and in my opinion ready to hang.
