1855 Woolwork Sampler by Harriet Ann Cooper
Victorian, dated 1855. 11.5ins by 12.5ins wide. 1855 Woolwork Sampler by Harriet Ann Cooper. Framed in a modern wood and gilt frame with glass.
Stitched along the top edge to card with chipboard dust cover.
The sampler is worked in wool on canvas ground, in cross stitch throughout.
Zig zag border.
Colours black and red. Alphabets A-Z in uppercase and lower case with numbers 1-10.
Signed and dated
'Harriet Ann Cooper 1855'.
CONDITION: Generally Good. No holes.
Slight staining around the edges,
along the central fold line,
and a few pale specks elsewhere.
Some stitch losses to the border,
divider lines,
letters of the alphabets
and the signature.
Colours are all good and strong with no noticeable fading. No colour run.
Stretching is slightly uneven.
Frame in very good condition, ready to hang.
