Circa 1890 Unfinished Alphabet Sampler

Victorian, circa 1890. 11.25ins by 17.5ins wide. Unframed.

The sampler is worked in two shades of red cotton-like thread on linen ground, in cross stitch throughout.

Simple line border.

Alphabets A-Z in uppercase and lower case with numbers 1-9.

CONDITION: Good. No holes. A few stains.

 

No stitch losses, just one loose thread.

Colours are both good and strong with no noticeable fading. No colour run.
