1832 Miniature Silkwork Sampler by E H Preston

William IV, dated 1832. 5.25ins by 5.75ins wide. Professionally framed in a 'plastic over wood' frame with glass.

Tacked to chipboard dust cover.

The sampler is worked in silk on canvas ground, in a variety of stitches.

Simple embroidered border.

Colours green, light brown and cream.

Alphabets A-Z in uppercase, numbers 1-12 and initials E . H . P .

Signed and dated

'E . H . Preston . 1832 .'.

A few motifs including crowns with initials

and a diamond.

CONDITION: Very Good. No holes. No stains other than slight uniform age darkening of the ground. No stitch losses.

Colours are all good and strong with no noticeable fading. The silks bright and glossy. No colour run.

Stretching is very slightly uneven.

Frame in good condition, ready to hang.
