Circa 1870 Woolwork Sampler by Ella Forsyth
Victorian, circa 1870. 18.5ins by 17ins wide. Unframed.
The sampler is worked in wool on canvas ground, in cross stitch throughout.
Zig zag border inside double line border.
Colours blue, red, green, navy blue, olive green, copper, black, purple, dark green, magenta and pink.
Alphabets A-Z in uppercase and lower case with numbers 1-7.

'Ella Forsyth Kinder-garten Age 9 years.'.
Initials AB. in bottom left corner.
CONDITION: Generally Fair. One small hole to center, illustrated.
Fraying to edges of canvas, worst illustrated.
A few patchy stains, illustrated.
Stitch losses to border, divider lines and letters of the alphabets, illustrated.
Colours are all good and strong with no noticeable fading. No colour run.
