Embroidery Needlework picture tray

Early - Mid 20thC. 11.5ins by 18.75ins wide. In an old wood frame with glass top, metal handles and green felt reverse.

The picture is worked in fine wool on heavily woven linen ground, in a variety of stitches.

Colours blue, green, navy blue, pale blue, olive green, gold, black, pink, purple, light green, magenta, orange and yellow.

No signature or date.

Picture depicts a colourful exotic bird perched amongst floral branches.

CONDITION: Good. No holes. A few stain specks, slight water stain in top right corner, and some loose specks underneath glass, worst illustrated.

No stitch losses.

Colours are all good and strong with no noticeable fading. No colour run.

Neatly and evenly stretched.

Frame in good condition. Tarnishing to centre of both handles, illustrated.
