Circa 18??CHEK DATE. 9ins by 7.5ins wide. Small Circa 18?? House Sampler by V R. Framed in an old, possibly original, wood frame with rippled, old glass.

Loose mounted onto card with wooden backing.

The sampler is worked in cotton on canvas ground, in cross stitch throughout.

Zig zag border.

Colours red, pale blue, dark brown, copper, white, orange, green and pink.

Signed with initials

'V R'.

A good set of motifs, including a house,

diamonds,

bird, crown,

strawberries, potted flowering plants

and flowers.

CONDITION: Good. No holes.

No stains other than uniform age darkening of the ground.

Very minor stitch loss to the border.

Colours are all good and strong with no noticeable fading.

No colour run.

Stretching is slightly uneven.

Frame showing slight wear, otherwise sound and ready to hang.
