Victorian, dated 1841. 15.5ins by 15.5ins wide. 1841 Sampler by Harriet Ackroyd.

Unframed.

The sampler is worked in fine wool on canvas ground, in a variety of stitches.

Zig zag/triangles border.

Colours red, blue, copper, gold, black, pink, purple, orange, green and light blue.

Verse reads

'How in the heat

of Youthfull

Blood Remember

thy Creator God'.

Signed and dated

'Harriet Acroyd Her work Aged 15 1841'.

A good set of motifs, including potted flowering plants,

dogs,

birds,

a fir tree,

hearts,

flowers and fruit baskets.

CONDITION: Generally Good. No holes. No stains.

Some stitch losses to the verse and motifs.

Colours are all good and strong with no noticeable fading.

No colour run.
