Victorian, circa 1870. 11.75ins by 8.25ins wide. Circa 1870 Woolwork Sampler by Elizabeth Wilkinson. Framed in an old, burr maple frame with glass.

Stitched to linen with chipboard backing.

The sampler is worked in wool on canvas ground, in a variety of stitches.
Simple line border.
Colours green, navy blue, copper, orange, red and pink.
Alphabets A-Z in upper case and lower case.
Signed
'Elizabeth Wilkinson March 16th'.
Single diamond motif.
CONDITION: Good. No holes.
A few small stains.
No stitch losses.
Some colours are slightly faded, but still well defined.
Unevenly stretched.
Frame showing slight wear, otherwise sound and ready to hang.
