Victorian, dated 1846. 11.5ins by 7.75ins wide. 1846 Sampler by Ann Webb. Unframed.

The sampler is worked in cotton-like thread on canvas ground, in a variety of stitches.

Cross linked chain border.

Colours light brown, cream, blue, dark brown and greens.

Alphabets A-Z in upper case and lower case and numbers 1-0.

Signed and dated

'Ann Webbs Work 1846'.

A good set of motifs, including fir trees, birds, dogs,

strawberry baskets, a heart, flowers

and a potted flowering plant.

CONDITION: Generally Good.

One small hole.

Patchy stain at the top and bottom,

and a few paler stains elsewhere.

No stitch losses.

Colours are mostly good and strong with no noticeable fading.

No colour run.
