George III, dated 1818. 21.25ins by 13ins wide. 1818 Sampler by Mary Docksey. Unframed.

The sampler is worked in fine wool and silk on canvas ground, in cross stitch and Algerian eye.

Triple line border.

Colours magenta, blue, red, green, light brown, dark brown, copper, white, black, olive green and pink.

Alphabets A-Z in upper case and lower case and numbers 1-27.

Signed and dated

'Mary Docksey Aged ? 1818'. Age unstitched.

Two potted flowering plant motifs.

CONDITION: Generally Good.

No holes.

One small stain.

Some stitch losses to the border,

divider lines,

letters of the alphabets and numbers.

Colours are all good and strong with no noticeable fading. No colour run.
