The sampler is worked in silk on linen ground, in cross stitch throughout.
Simple line border.
Colour is light green throughout.
Alphabets A-Z in uppercase and lower case with numbers 1-10.
Verse reads
'Great God I would not ask to see
What in futurity shall be
If light and bliss attend my days
Then let my future hours be praise
Is darkness and distress my share
Then let me trust thy guardian care
Enough for me if love divine
At length through every cloud shall shine
Honour thy Father and thy Mother
that thy days may be long in the land
which the Lord thy God giveth thee'.

Caistor is a town in Lincolnshire, England.
CONDITION: Generally Good. A number of holes.
One stain.
No stitch losses. The colour is slightly faded, but still well defined. No colour run.
