1880 Unframed Woolwork house sampler
Victorian, dated 1880. 9.25ins by 16ins. Loose, unframed sampler.
Alphabet A-Z in uppercase at the top and numbers 1-9.
Dated '1880' with initials 'S.J.H'.
Meandering strawberry border.
Stitched in wool throughout.
Red, purple, orange, brown, pink, green, blue, white and yellow colours.
House motif at the bottom,
birds,
urns, a tree and a stag.
CONDITION: No holes, two small 5mm stains in the right hand border.
Very minor stitch loss.
Colours are good and strong. Slight colour run at the bottom, barely noticable. No stretching.
