Two alphabets, one numerals.

Signed J Farrow 1886, clean, bright woolwork in many shades and colors, all in simple cross stitch on an open weave sacking type ground.

No age darkening or patchy staining. Three very small almost imperceptible stains to the ground.

Nil fading. No holes. No stitch losses. No color run. No stretching. The sampler comes from a deceased estate in St Ives, England, known to the auctioneer who cleared the contents, satisfactorily settling the question of authenticity that immediately arises with a sampler in condition this good.
