George IV, dated 1826. 7.75ins by 15.75ins. 1826 Sampler by Elizabeth Anne B Church.
Framed in a old, gold coloured wooden frame with rippled, old glass.
Tacked onto a wooden mounting frame and linen backing.
The sampler has alphabets A-Z in uppercase, numbers 1-17, and family initials at the bottom.
Signed and dated "Elizabeth Ann B Church Sewed This Sampler In The 6th Year Of Her Age July 18th 1826".
Simple line border.
The sampler is worked in wool and silk threads.
Red, pale blue and green colour threads used.
CONDTION: Good.
No holes. No stains. A couple of stitch losses to letters of the alphabets, illustrated.
Colours are slightly faded, but still well defined.
No colour run. No stretching.
The frame has slight wear and small 5mm chips on the corners, illustrated,
but is structurally sound.
