Loose, unframed sampler. The sampler has alphabets A-Z in uppercase and lower case, numbers 1-0 ,family initials and Roman numerals I to X.
Verse/s read 'Remember Sabbath day to keep it holy'.
Signed "Elizabeth Jane Dodd Age 9".
Zig zag border.
The sampler is worked in wool threads throughout.
Black, blue, green, white, pink, purple, grey and red colour threads used.
Unusual set of motifs include a hand, pointing a finger,
a top hat, a snail,
a horse, a rat , a dog
and a bee hive sitting on a table.
CONDTION: Good. No holes whatsoever. No stains. No stitch losses. Colours are all good and strong with no noticable fading. No colour run. No stretching
