pre-Victorian, circa 1820. 4.7ins high, 4.1ins wide, 2.4ins depth. Staffordshire Pottery pearlware bocage figure which features a doe in front of a tree, recumbent on a shaped base.
Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.
CONDITION: Generally good. No restoration. Chips to flowers.
Chip leaf.
One flower missing.
A few paint losses to ground and to deer.
Slight wear to deer's tail.
KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage crack to the left front leg;
thin glaze application to areas of green on the bocage leaves.
