Victorian, circa 1880. 6.3ins high, 5.1ins wide, 1.8ins depth. Choisy Majolica match striker which features a wine barrel leaning against a brick wall,
the striking strip below.
Colouration: grey, brown, grey, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Choisy pottery.
CONDITION: Good. No restoration.
Chips to hanging hole.
KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage crack to the leaves;
over glazed shrinkage line to the barrel interior;
thin glaze application to barrel exterior.
