Victorian, circa 1880. 4.7ins high, 4.7ins wide, 4.3ins depth. Royal Worcester Majolica sauceboat which features a dolphin balancing a clam shell on its back.
Colouration: pink, brown, cobalt blue, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Royal Worcester pottery. Bears a pattern number, '95'.
CONDITION: Good. Some small flakes to rim.
KILN EFFECTS: kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the base edge;
stray coloured glaze to the dolphin's head;
bruise to the top of dolphin's head.
RESTORATION. Stabilised and retouched hairline to the centre of shell.
