Antique Sampler, 1834, by Ann Kelk

William IV, dated 1834. 10ins high by 8.5ins wide. 1834 'Knowledge' Sampler by Ann Kelk. Framed in a modern maple frame with glass.

Attached to satin covered card, with chipboard backing.

The sampler is worked in silk on a linen ground, in a variety of stitches.

Simple embroidered border.

Colours black, cream, green and peach. Alphabets A-Z in upper case and lower case.

Sampler entitled 'Knowledge'.

Signed and dated 'Ann Kelk 1834'.

A few motifs including fruit basket, flowers and fir trees.

CONDITION: Good. A few holes and losses to the outer edge.

No stains. No stitch losses other than to the holed areas. Colours are all good and strong with no noticeable fading. No colour run.

Frame in good condition, ready to hang.
