Walton Staffordshire Pearlware Ram and Lamb Spill Vase

pre-Victorian, circa 1820. 7.1ins high, 5.9ins wide, 3.5ins depth. Walton Staffordshire Pottery pearlware bocage spill vase which features a ram and lamb in front of a flowering tree, stood on a shaped base.

Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.

Maker's marks Walton molded ribbon.

 

Condition

CONDITION: Generally good. Some small flakes to ground.

KILN EFFECTS: kiln detritus caught in the glaze.

RESTORATION. Filled chip to sheep's nose.

Filled chips to five bocage leaves.

Retouched flakes/shallow chip to another leaf.

Filled chip to spill rim.
