
Circa 1890. 10.4ins high, 6.9ins wide, 4.1ins depth. Portuguese Palissy Majolica wall pocket which features a nesting bird, lizard and insects.
Colouration: green, ochre, brown, are predominant.
CONDITION: Good. Minor flaking to lizard, bird, leaf, green shredded clay and reverse.
KILN EFFECTS: a few specks of kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the front and reverse;
glaze accumulation to the reverse of the hanging branches.
RESTORATION. Old retouched chip to tip of bird's left wing.
