Cunha Portuguese Palissy Majolica wall plate which features lizards, insects and a frog to the front.
Colouration: green, brown, ochre, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Cunha pottery.
CONDITION: Good.
Chip to one moth's antennae,
and a few chips to the foot rim.
KILN EFFECTS: a few specks of kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the lizards,
frog
and reverse.
RESTORATION. Filled chip to tip of larger lizard's tail.
Small lizard's head reglued and join retouched.
Retouched chips and flakes to some of the claws.
