George Jones Majolica Dog Rose Compote

Victorian, circa 1870. 3.3ins high, 9.3ins wide, 9.3ins depth. George Jones Majolica compote which features a dog rose and scrollwork border.

Cobalt blue ground version. Colouration: green, cobalt blue, ochre, are predominant.

The piece bears maker's marks for the George Jones pottery. Bears a pattern number, '3403 30'.

Condition

CONDITION: Good. Slight wear to the high points of the molding.

KILN EFFECTS: a few specks of kiln detritus caught in the glaze.

RESTORATION. Filled chip to under rim.
