Victorian, circa 1867. 7.7ins high, 5.3ins wide, 4.7ins depth. Minton Majolica jug/pitcher which features a pineapple. Colouration: ochre, green, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Minton pottery. Bears a pattern number, '538 18'. English diamond registration mark for the date 05/10/1858. Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1867.
Includes a note inside, dated April 1973, from a previous owner. She describes how she used to use the jug for lemonade!
CONDITION: Good. KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage lines to the rim and handle;
glaze run to the green glaze.
RESTORATION :OLD RESTORATION. Filled chip to under the rim.
