Wedgwood Majolica Plate with Vegetable Decoration

Victorian, circa 1879. 8.5ins high, 8.5ins wide, 1ins depth. Wedgwood Majolica plate which features vegetables separated with forks. Cobalt blue ground version. Colouration: cobalt blue, ochre, puce, are predominant.

The piece bears maker's marks for the Wedgwood pottery. Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1879.


Good. No restoration. Some small flakes to the rim, predominantly on the underside.

Very slight wear to the high points of the molding.

KILN EFFECT: shrinkage cracks to the centre.
