Victorian, circa 1880. 16.5ins high, 23.6ins wide, 3.3ins depth. Sarreguemines Majolica wall plaque which features
a scene of three hounds attacking a wolf, molded in deep relief.
Colouration: cobalt blue, green, green, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Sarreguemines pottery.
Bears a pattern number, '592'.
CONDITION: Good. No restoration.
Small chip to wolf's paw,
foot rim
and leaves.
Some flakes to end of leaves.
KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage crack to the underside;
glaze accumulation to the cobalt blue glaze;
over glazed shrinkage lines to the dog's tails.
