Holdcroft Majolica figure which features a boy seated on a boat with two dolphins in the water below.
The words 'LE BATELIER DE CYTHERE' written on the side of the boat.
Which translated means 'The cythere boatman'.
Colouration: cobalt blue, pink, cream, are predominant.
Bears a pattern number, '442'.
CONDITION: Good.
Tiny flake to top of base.
KILN EFFECTS: flecks of stray coloured glaze to the boy's leg.
RESTORATION. Filled chip to rim of boat.
Retouched flakes to dolphin's fins
and a small patch to the bottom of the interior of the boat.
