Pair Staffordshire Pottery Diserali Whippets & Hares

Victorian, circa 1860. Tallest is 10.8ins high, 8.7ins wide, 3.5ins depth. Pair of Staffordshire Pottery figures which feature a Disraeli whippet

with a dead hare(The curls represent Disraeli's, elected Prime Minister 1868 and Queen Victoria’s favourite), stood on an oblong base.

Dull gilt 'dash-dot-dash' base line.

Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.

Vent hole to the underside.

Condition

CONDITION: Right facing: Generally good.

Slight rubbing to gilt.

RESTORATION. Remodelled both hind legs.

Stabilised and retouched crack to front left leg.

Right ear reglued and join retouched.

Retouched paint loss to ground and hare's ears.

Left facing: Good.

Tight hairline to right hind leg.

Slight rubbing to gilt.

RESTORATION. Filled chip to right ear.
