Victorian, circa 1868. 7.5ins high, 3.9ins wide, 3.5ins depth. Minton Majolica match holder which features a Hogarth girl, sat on a rock, and holding a brown wicker basket. Colouration: brown, brown, cream, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Minton pottery. Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1868.
CONDITION: Good. Small flake to her finger on her left hand.
KILN EFFECTS: kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the basket.
RESTORATION. Filled chip to basket.
Retouched flake to ribbon in her hair.
