Staffordshire children with oversized spaniel

Victorian, circa 1860. 6.7ins high, 5.3ins wide, 2.2ins depth. Staffordshire group with a childhood theme which features a girl on a spaniels back, a boy in front, stood on an oval base.

Dull gilt base line and embellishment. Flatback, decorated mainly to the front. Vent hole to the underside.

CONDITION: Good. Some paint losses to ground, dog's markings and girl's skirt.

Rubbing to gilt.

KILN EFFECTS: small shrinkage crack to lower base edge at front.

RESTORATION: filled chip to girl's hat;

retouched flakes to both hats.
