Staffordshire girl & dog arbour group
Victorian, circa 1860. 8.9ins high, 5.2ins wide, 2.3ins depth.
Staffordshire group which features a girl seated on a cushion beside a whippet, seated on an oblong base.
Dull gilt base line and embellishment. Flatback, decorated only to the front.
Vent hole to the reverse.
Condition
Generally good. Hairline to the top of the arbour, to the reverse only.
Slight abrasion to dog's nose.
Slight rubbing to gilt.
KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage line along the mold join to the base;
over glazed shrinkage line to the reverse;
the piece leans, where it has moved during firing.
It does however still sit upright.
RESTORATION: Girl's left arm remodelled.
