pre-Victorian, circa 1820. 5.9ins high, 4.1ins wide, 2.8ins depth. Walton Staffordshire pearlware bocage figure with a pastoral theme which features a cow with a calf, recumbent on an oval base. Black and white version.
Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.
Open bottomed. Maker's marks Walton molded ribbon.

Condition
Good. A few tiny flakes to bocage.
KILN EFFECTS: two touch marks to the base;
tiny glaze pops to the cow's back;
shrinkage line to the inside of the cow's right back leg.
RESTORATION: Two filled chips to bocage.
Filled chip to cow's left horn. Cow's left ear remodelled.
