Staffordshire pottery group of a girl on a spaniel

Victorian, circa 1860. 6.3ins high, 6.7ins wide, 3.7ins depth. Staffordshire figure which features a girl seated on a recumbent spaniel,

sat directly on the ground, no base.

White and gilt version. Dull gilt embellishment. Decorated mainly to the front.

Vent hole to the underside.

Condition

CONDITION: Fair.

Paint losses to girl's shoe.

Some rubbing to gilt.

KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage crack to the front, next to dog's left ear;

firing hole above dog's left hind paw.

RESTORATION. Filled chip to girl's hat

and to lower base edge.

Filled, stabilised and retouched section to underside of base.

Retouched eyes, muzzle and paws to dog.

Head of girl reglued and join retouched.
