Pair Staffordshire pottery Zebra figures

Pair of Staffordshire figures which feature a zebra, stood on a shaped base.

We think they have possibly been matched up together at some stage because they have significantly different markings.

Dull gilt base line and embellishment. Decorated mainly to the front. Vent hole to the reverse.

Right facing: Generally good. No restoration.

Hairline to the zebra's midriff.

Slight rubbing to gilt.

KILN EFFECTS: flecks of stray coloured glaze to the reverse;

glaze run to the black glaze;

touch marks to the base.

Left facing: Generally good. Slight rubbing to gilt.

KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage cracks and lines to the reverse,

zebra's back,

hind right ankle and leg.

RESTORATION. Retouched paint losses to muzzle, hooves and ground.
