pre-Victorian, circa 1820. 9.6ins high, 5.1ins wide, 4.4ins depth. Staffordshire Pottery pearlware bocage group with a religious theme which features an unusual bocage style; St Peter, knelt on a shaped hollow base.
The piece is titled, 'ST PETER' .
Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.
CONDITION: Generally good. Chips to flower petals and leaves below cockerel.
Some small chips and flakes to bocage leaf tips.
Some small flakes to beard and bible.
KILN EFFECTS: touch mark to base side;
shrinkage crack to one key.
RESTORATION. Sections of bocage reglued and joins retouched.
Filled chips to some bocage leaf tips and flowers.
Retouching to clothes, ground and flake to hand.
Filled chip to cockerel wing.
Retouched flaking to ground on the reverse.
