Victorian, circa 1860. Tallest is 4.5ins high, 5.2ins wide, 2.5ins depth.
Pair of Staffordshire figures with a childhood theme which feature a pair of spaniels with a boy and girl on their backs,
recumbent on a shaped hollow base.
Dull gilt base line and embellishment.
Decorated mainly to the front.
Condition
Right facing: Good. No restoration. Some rubbing to gilt.
KILN EFFECTS: firing crack to the spaniel's face and chest;
kiln soot caught in the glaze.
Left facing: Good. No restoration. A few paint losses to the spaniel's head and boy's hair.
Some rubbing to gilt.
KILN EFFECTS: kiln soot caught in the glaze;
flecks of stray coloured glaze to the boy's chin.
