
Victorian, circa 1870. 9.3ins high, 3.7ins wide, 4.7ins depth. Minton Majolica flower holder which features a female vintager carrying a basket on her back. Colouration: ochre, brown, cream, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Minton pottery. Bears a pattern number, '1439'. Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1870.
Good. KILN EFFECTS: kiln detritus caught in the glaze to her right arm;
glaze run to the brown glaze;
shrinkage cracks to the end of the basket straps;
thin glaze application to the rim of the basket.
RESTORATION: Stabilised and retouched two hairlines to basket rim.
