Majolica Parrot & Butterfly plate

Victorian, circa 1880. 9ins high, 9ins wide, 0.8ins depth.

Majolica plate which features a parrot or cockatoo perched on a branch.

Colouration: cobalt blue, brown, ochre, are predominant.

Condition

Good. No restoration.

Slight wear to the high points of the molding.

KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage crack to the rim;

glaze pops to the brown rim section;

some glaze misses to the cobalt ground;

craze lines.
