Pair of oval Georgian silkwork embroideries with hand-drawn detail. Framed in old, gilded, gesso frames with rippled, old glass.
Fixed to wood with paper backing.
The panels are worked in silk on a silk ground, in a variety of stitches.
Colours browns, cream, green, black, blues and greys.
The pictures depict women outside a country cottage. One holds hay, whilst the other woman holds a basket of flowers.
CONDITION: Good. Some tiny pieces of brown paper caught under the glass to both pictures.
A couple of loose threads to one picture.
Colours are mostly good and strong. The silks bright and glossy.
No colour run. Neatly and evenly stretched.
Frame showing wear and chips, but structurally sound.
