Staffordshire Dudson man with dog figure

Victorian, circa 1860. 6.5ins high, 3.7ins wide, 3.9ins depth. Dudson Staffordshire figure which features a man with his dog and a lamb at his side, seated on a shaped base.



Multi-coloured version. Dull gilt base line and embellishment.
Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.









Open bottomed.

Condition

CONDITION: Good.

Small flakes to shredded clay decoration,







one to base edge



and one to reverse.



Some rubbing to gilt.



KILN EFFECTS: notable crazing;





slight staining to the reverse;




shrinkage crack to the underside rim of base.



RESTORATION. Head reglued and join retouched.









Filled chips to brim of hat.
