Staffordshire Prattware Saint George & Dragon

pre-Victorian, circa 1790. 10.8ins high, 8.3ins wide, 4.6ins depth. Staffordshire Prattware figure with a mythological theme which features
Saint George on horseback fighting a dragon, stood on a shaped base.



Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.
Vent holes are present.

CONDITION: Generally good.

Lance is missing.



Chips to Dragon's teeth.



Some flakes to base.







KILN EFFECTS: kiln soot caught in the glaze to the horse's legs.





RESTORATION. Remodelled horse's ears,





tail





and reins.



Both George's legs reglued and joins retouched.





Stabilised and retouched hairlines to both of George's ankles.
