Victorian, circa 1860. 6.3ins high, 6.7ins wide, 3ins depth. Staffordshire figure which features a young girl holding a puppy, sat on a spaniels back, recumbent on a cobalt blue base.
Multi-coloured with underglaze blue version. Dull gilt base line and embellishment. Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse. Vent hole to the underside. Maker's marks painted to the underside.

Condition
CONDITION: Generally good. Some rubbing to gilt.
Slight wear to the cobalt base.
KILN EFFECTS: flecks of stray coloured glaze to the reverse;
kiln grit caught in the glaze to the reverse.
RESTORATION: Pup's neck, girl's right arm, neck and waist reglued and all joins retouched.
Retouching to markings of both dogs, face of large dog and hair and plumage to girl.
